Lost Lands is a vineyard blend composed of our richest, most structured fruit each vintage. In 2022 it is based largely around the Rincon Vineyard in Arroyo Grande Valley, owned by the Talley family. It grows on dense calcareous clay soils, which bring rich tannins to wine. To balance it’s fuller tannin profile, we married it with some of our best barrels from Spanish Springs, mainly from block 1A planted to the darker fruited clone 667. Rounding out the blend is a small amount of Derbyshire, which adds savory undertones and great length.
